The Lie That is Artificial Intelligence
“The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers.” -Thomas Jefferson

Artificial Intelligence and the Propaganda
It looks like another successful Propaganda campaign. AI is now officially part of the average mans lexicon. Business folks see it as the next big opportunity to make a buck while the talking heads warn of its dangers to overpower the entire human race. Is AI a big deal? Well, it depends on how you look at it really. AI is not a new thing by any means. In fact, the term artificial intelligence apparently was coined back in the fifties. The hype around the public sphere for AI is very real and of course misunderstood as usual. There is a tendency for corporations to monopolize technologies, leverage them while only they have access, then package them up piecemeal and sell them to the public for some other gain of theirs. This is what’s happening right now with AI. It’s an old software that has been around and is now being made public. And yes, AI is just a software. It is not capable of consciousness. It has no emotion or capacity for love. It is a cold machine made by human hands. “AI” is artificially intelligent the same way a calculator is artificially intelligent. It receives inputs and produces outputs that it was coded to produce.
What makes AI different than other software? What makes it unique is that it has a massive database to compute outputs with. It has the internet. So all of the “stuff” uploaded to the computer network that is the internet is essentially at the fingertips of this software to produce outputs with. There is a reason why BIG DATA is important to the corporations. The average persons participation in AI is exactly what these corporations want because it gives another mode of influence upon you. They can leverage it to make profit and maintain control. Artificial intelligence is just one example of it.
The dangerous part of AI is that it will incentivize even less creativity than humans already have at this juncture and it will create more of a stranglehold on the collective consciousness. As bad as the average human psyche is now, it can get worse, much worse. The internet is to become more regurgitations and recycling’s of the same content painted in different ways and labeled novel. It won’t happen all at once but that’s the trajectory and its not far off.
The more participation in the software, the more unique output combinations it can produce. The more unique outputs it can produce the more “intelligent” it seems. What we cannot do is let ourselves be fooled in to the lie that we are somehow inferior to this supposed intelligence now or in the future. We as humans have a special place in this existence. We give our technologies power, not the other way around.
